A BUTCHER’S hook/look (Cockney rhyming slang)
no park

Left: unclear messaging - by the time you’ve figured out if it’s OK to park there, you’ve probably been given a ticket!
Right: it’s clear enough, just don’t! Please!
old school
Texting is part of everyday life - it’s hard for us to imagine now that the only way to get a message to someone quickly was by sending a telegram. Possible over the phone, but otherwise, go to the post office and dictate your message, paying per word.
design perfect
I picked up this fabulous Valentine typewriter, designed by Ettore Sottsass for Olivetti in 1969, for £10 in a flea market in England - just as it was beginning to rain. I thought that I better save it! cool as hell
A precursor to the bright colors of the iMac, he noted he used bright red "so as not to remind anyone of monotonous working hours."

The Valentine was the first typewriter built entirely in plastic (injection molded ABS). The model's main feature was its portability and the integration of the object within its own case: the backside of the machine itself could “close” the machine, which included a handle. With two simple rubber safety devices, it was fixed to a shell that protected the machine from external blows, ready to be transported like a briefcase.
too busy, no time to write
Dear Martha, I am having such a grand time that I don’t (know) when to stop. I am afraid I won’t be able to write you a letter for I am so busy I haven’t any time. Will be seeing you soon, Shirley
So that's the story, Statue of Shirley Levine. I knew the Levine family wouldn't make a stink of changing their name to Liberty if there wasn't something important behind it. Now I know, & the world does: Martha Niven in Schenectady. History is made wwith these connections. TY
Oh man - that Typewriter!! ♥️ !!
