When I came back to New Zealand having decided I would like to live here, the passport chappie accidentally authorised my passport with a Permanent Residence stamp!
It came to light a few months later, and Immigration caught up with me and I was interviewed by someone high-up. Turns out to have been a f-up by an inexperienced staff member and very embarrassing for NZ govt agency, and they couldn't take it off me.
It meant I cd stay in New Zealand, which was my heart's desire.
"A writer who draws"--we have loved that description in our household for a while. Now to track down a copy of "Passport"!
